Our latest entry for the C-Skins Quick Cuts edit contest features 10-year-old ripper Lennox Lindsay. Watch as he gives us a master class in being stoked.
We’re big fans of stoke here at NZ Surf Journal so when this edit landed in our inbox we couldn’t help but wish we were groms again.
“Wild horses could not keep me out of the water when there are waves,” smiles 10-year-old Lennox Lindsay.
Lennox has been surfing ever since his family moved to Whangarei five years ago.
“We mostly surf at Sandy Bay,” he tells us. “I love going up north to Shipwreck Bay to surf with my friends. When I go with my mates I am always the first one in the water and the last to get out. When my mum takes me to the beach on my own I can surf literally all day long.”
Lennox’s entry was filmed at beaches around Northland with some videos from some of the contests he has entered.
“I love surfing and I am very competitive,” Lennox tells us. “I want to win surf comps and travel around the world. I just want to get better and better.”
“Today I landed a 360 reverse for the first time, but my mum wasn’t filming: so I couldn’t add it to this entry,” he explains. “I will have to do it again when she is behind the camera. Lucky my mum and some of my mates were watching – I had been trying to land a reverse for a few weeks and today it felt so good to finally do it!”
Yep, this grom is sure to rise. Hit play …
