Watch: Internet Birthday – Episode 3 – Dunedin, NZ

Filmmaker Geoff Campbell returns to his hometown and brings us a gnarly Thrasher skate edit, filmed in and around Dunedin, New Zealand.

Internet Birthday Episode 3 features a cast of talented Australian and Kiwi skaters including Nick Boserio, Rowan Davis, and Jack O’Grady who spent two weeks cruising around Dunedin in search of steep hills and massive rails. They didn’t have to look very hard …

For those of you from Dunedin, watch closely as these rippers take on all the local spots. You’ll likely find yourself in awe of the fearlessness (or recklessness) of these skaters as they send some of the steepest and gnarliest features in the city.

We ended up spending most of our nights at the octagon, drinking our own beers, uncapping and fixing the ledges, skating, making new friends and ultimately forming an allyship with the local police force, who seemed to appreciate having more eyes watching the eight sides of chaos.

The hilly landscape and aged setting really did make for some crusty terrain. We found plenty of spots, but the characters we ran into were most entertaining.

Shaun Paul

It captures the essence of Dunedin’s underground skate scene pretty perfectly – featuring massive hill bombs, heavy slams, and of course, crazy run-ins with locals. You’d be hard pressed to find a more entertaining skate edit, so hit play and enjoy 8 minutes of madness.
